• Cell phone use in school has become increasingly distracting.  As per the guidance of administration in the junior high school, students will be expected to silence their cell phones and place them in the organizer near the door upon entering. Each student will be assigned a number and should place their phones in the pocket with their number. A chart will be posted to remind them. Any student who does not follow this directive and is seen using their phone during class will be sent to the office. Consequences may include: holding of the phone in the office until the end of the day (first offense 1 day, second 3, third 2 weeks), phone call home, lunch detention, or other consequences decided upon by administration if the problem persists.

Our goal is to minimize distractions and get the most we can out of our learning time together. Students may not retrieve their phones when leaving the room to go to lockers or restrooms and should not be taking calls or answering texts during class times. Please encourage your child to communicate with you at appropriate times, and to make social arrangements and plans for staying after ahead of time as much as possible. Thank you for your support in this matter.
