Morse Parent/Family Pick-Up Procedures: Tuesday, March 31st 9am-1pm
General Information:
-
Due to the most recent information passed down from the state, we will be out of school until April 15th, therefore, it was decided to allow parents/families the opportunity to pick-up belongings and materials necessary for remote learning.
-
PARENTS/FAMILIES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO COME TO THE SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF THIS DAY AND TIME, NO EXCEPTIONS! THIS IS FOR EVERYONE’S HEALTH AND SAFETY!
-
THE SCHOOL WILL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO GET NECESSARY ITEMS TO OUR PARENTS/FAMILIES WHO ARE UNABLE TO PICK UP ITEMS ON THIS DAY DURING THE SCHEDULED TIMES.
-
These procedures are different than the high school, pertaining only to the Morse School
-
Parents/Families will be able to pick up their children’s items at the school on this day and during these times ONLY. These items include the following:
-
Each student’s desk, cubby, materials necessary for remote learning (books, notebooks, pens/pencils, folders etc.) will be packed up and placed in a sterile bag with your child’s name on it, using protective gloves. This will be done in coordination with your classroom teacher.
-
If you need to pick up any medications, Nurse Sherri will be in her office during this time to distribute back to parents any necessary medications, inhalers, or other medical items.
-
If there are any other items needed, please inform the staff member when you arrive at the school. Unfortunately, as we anticipate a strong volume of parents/families, we will be unable to search for items in our lost and found or search throughout the building.
Procedures for Pick-Up:
The following procedures MUST be followed for everyone’s safety and health:
-
When pulling up to the school ALL PARENTS/FAMILIES ARE EXPECTED TO STAY IN THEIR VEHICLES AT ALL TIMES. If you are walking distance from the school, we ask that you still come in your vehicles. If you do not have access to a vehicle and must walk, please maintain social distancing and get the attention of the greeter to coordinate the pick-up of items.
-
Vehicles will enter the property from the south entrance as always and pull up to the first cone to the greeter. Please inform the greeter your child’s name and homeroom (for each child if you have multiple children in the school). If you are picking up medications, inhalers or any medical items from the nurses office, please inform the greeter as well.
-
After this information is obtained, the greeter will direct you to pull your vehicle all of the way down the front of the building driveway to make as much space as possible.
-
The greeter will radio into the building this information (including the make and color of your vehicle) to the runner on standby, to obtain the items. The runners will be wearing protective gloves.
-
The runners will bring out the bagged items to your vehicle and will place it at the passenger side door maintaining social distancing.
-
Parents will quickly retrieve the bagged items, place it in their vehicle, and will immediately leave the property.
-
Again, due to the high volume we anticipate, we must move the vehicles quickly through this process, so please do not stop to talk to anyone and keep the conversations limited only to the listed procedures.
