Applications for absentee ballots are available. However, because school votes are governed by Education Law and not by Election Law, the accommodations for absentee voting that were available in the November general election are unfortunately not permitted. The District does not have the legal authority to change the permissible reasons for requesting an absentee ballot. An application for an absentee ballot, with all of the traditional reasons, is available on the homepage of our website. To obtain a ballot by mail, the application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days prior to the vote. To pick a ballot up in person, the application must be received by the District Clerk by the day before the election. Completed ballots are due to the District Clerk by 5 PM on December 15.

Why is this vote not being held on the same day as the budget vote in May?

Timing is everything. Our financial advisors have strategically worked on a timeline that replaces retiring debt in such a manner that this project will not increase the tax levy.
