In order for our year to run smoothly you may want to take note of the following:
1. Each school day is assigned a letter. (A day, E day, etc.)
Please see “Mrs. Murphy’s Special Schedule.” It is inside the gray take home folders.
2. Lunch, milk and ice cream money should be kept in a safe place. Please label all money that is sent in. Sealedenvelopes, Ziploc bags, or labeled change purses work best.
3. Students should not bring anything of great value to school in fear of it being lost or stolen.
4. If you have to schedule a doctor’s appointment it would be beneficial to schedule it as late in the school day as possible. I understand that this is not always possible.
5. If your child is a walker your child will not be allowed to ride the bus unless they have a note written by you. If your child rides the bus they will not be allowed to walk home without a note written by you. If someone besides yourself is going to pick up your child I am not allowed to release him/her unless I have a note written by you.
6. If your child is having difficulty academically, socially or emotionally at home or school please contact me. Home life and school life are directly connected.
7. Besides the two allotted conference days, I schedule conferences after school at 3:00 or after. Please be patient about me scheduling conferences. It takes a while to get to know the kids before I feel that I can discuss them with you. If there is something you would like to share with me please contact me with a letter or a phone call. My number at school is 247-6870 and my voice mail is 6881.
8. Please label everything that you send in. (backpacks, lunchboxes, etc.)
9. Each night your child will be bringing home a blue take home folder. Please check it each night. If the papers are on the left please take them out and leave them at home.
10. Please send in a change of clothes for your child. Please place them in a plastic bag with their name on it.
11. Most days the children will be playing on the playground equipment. Please make sure the have on sneakers or rubber soled shoes. Also, for girls wearing skirts it is helpful if they have shorts underneath. You may also send in old sneakers to leave in their cubby.
12. We will be creating class rules together over the next two weeks. You will be receiving a paper regarding the rules and consequences after we have completed them. Please look them over carefully and discuss them with your child.
I know this is a lot of information but I hope that it will be helpful to you. Cooperation and communication are essential. It is very important that we work as a team to give your child the best education possible.
