I am pleased to report that our year is progressing even better than expected. Students have really made huge gains in literacy since the beginning of the year, and have adjusted very well to the routines we have in place in 6th grade. I am particularly impressed with every student's morning reading habits. Every morning during our homeroom/attendance period, I see every student reading independently and respectfully without being prompted. It is wonderful to see students reading for 15-20 minutes everyday before we start our academic periods.
