Mrs. Cathie Hoffstatter
Hello and welcome to Fourth Grade! I hope you have all been enjoying your summer vacation, but as they say, "All good things must come to an end." In just a few short weeks we will be back at school making new friends, learning new things and personally I can’t wait! I can't wait to meet all of you the first day of school! Parents I'll see you at open house.
I just wanted to give some information about myself. I enjoy walking, gardening, and traveling. I am married with three step children, whom all are boys. The eldest is a lineman for Central Hudson, the middle child is the comptroller for Passaic County, New Jersey, who is married and he and his wife have a beautiful baby girl, Aubrey! The youngest is working at NY Drilling. I am so proud of all three of them!
As you probably already know, New York State has been demanding higher educational standards for all children. It is my intention to expect this same standard of excellence in the classroom by providing your child with a quality education where they become successful. I assure you that fourth grade will be a prosperous year for your student and that, at the end of the year, your child will feel accomplished and confident in their learning capabilities. On the first day of school, your child will be receiving an information packet with rules, procedures, and routines of the classroom. I appreciate your support by going over this packet with your child when he/she gets home in order to ensure understanding and a sense of responsibility for these policies. Parents and families are essential members of the team involved in educating our children today. I will be sending home periodic newsletters, which will cover the material and concepts to be learned in our classroom.
I hope this information will provide you with a good picture of the types of things we will be working on in school and allow you to hold discussions at home of the material learned during the day. It is my intention to keep you up to date and involved with the development of your child’s education. We all aim to assist the children in reaching their fullest potential in every situation. If there are any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me in writing or call me at school, (845) 247-6500 or email choffstatter@saugerties.k12.ny.us as I check my email daily. I believe this coming year will be beneficial to your child and provide a boost for a successful educational future in our school district. Sincerely,Cathie Hoffstatter
