Hello Mt. Marion families! My name is Jodie Fisher and I am thrilled to be your child's visual art teacher. I am looking forward to being a part of your student's creative experiences while promoting true artistic growth throughout the year.

I previously taught elementary art for the Cairo-Durham School District. After more than a decade of instructing children, I decided to stay at home and raise my own two boys. I had a wonderful experience, enjoying every moment. I am thrilled, however, to be back in the art classroom and teaching children in Saugerties. The students will have many incredible and stimulating art experiences, investigating all avenues of the visual arts.

I enjoy drawing, painting, and printmaking. A few of my favorite materials are colored pencils, oil pastels, and acrylic paints. I love dragons, owls, sunflowers, and Vincent van Gogh! I have always wanted to illustrate a children's book and still hope to accomplish this someday.

I live and breathe art and hope to instill this passion in my students. Art encourages children to think, trust their ideas, and develop confidence. The possibilities are endless!
