    Homework and Grading Policy:
    picture
*Math cannot be learned by watching
It is a subject that requires regular
practice in order to be successful.
    Homework provides that needed practice
and alerts a student to areas where
     they may require extra help.*

    1.  Homework will generally be assigned 3 to 4 times per week.

    2.  In each marking period, homework will be counted as follows:
          Completed Assignment = 2 points
Partially Complete Assignment = 1 point
          Incomplete/Missing Assignment = 0 points

    3.  At the end of each marking period, the total amount of homework points the student has earned is divided by the total amount of possible points, which will be counted as a quiz grade to be averaged in with the rest of the student's grades.

Example:  If 30 homework assignments were given during a marking period and a student is missing 2 of them and has 3 assignments that are only partially complete, the grade is computed as follows:
30 assignments at 2 points each = 60 possible points.
         25 completed x 2 points each = 50 points
          2 missing assignments = 0 points
          3 partially completed x 1 point each = 3 points
Total points earned = 53  Total possible points = 60
                           53 divided by 60 = 88%.
Final Homework Grade in this example = 88%

    4.  Students are given 1 week to make up any missed assignments due to absences, without penalty.  If the assignment is turned in late, but not due to an absence, the student must turn it in the following day and will earn 1 point, otherwise the assignment will receive 0 points if not turned in on that following day.

    5.  Grading for tests/quizzes are also based on total points.  The amount of points a student earns divided by the total points possible on the test gives their percentage grade.

*Don't miss out on this opportunity to earn a 100% as
a homework grade by simply completing your homework!!!
