          ·         Circle Suffixes

    ·         Cross out Silent e’s

    o   “Ends in e, Count back 3” – if Consonant-l-e syllable (-le), scoop that syllable

    ·         Put a DOT above remaining vowels that are apart

    ·         Count # of consonants in between each set of vowels:

    o   1 Consonant -> 1st choice = before, 2nd choice = after

    o   2 Consonants -> split between unless…

    §  If a digraph -> 1st choice = before, 2nd choice = after

    §  If a beginning blend -> 1st choice = before, 2nd choice = split up blend

    o   3 Consonants ->

    §  If there’s a digraph or 2-letter blend -> split between digraph/blend and the extra consonant

    §  If there are two 2-letter blends -> keep 2nd one

    §  If there’s a 3-letter blend or digraph blend -> divide before

    o   4 Consonants -> 2&2 unless…

    §  If there’s a 3-letter blend or digraph blend -> 1&3

    ·         Mark syllable types and vowels for each syllable
