• Accelerated Reader ~
                                  bookworm     reading
        Each ten week marking period students may be required to complete an accelerated reader quiz for their ELA class. The book they are reading for SAFARI time in my room can count for this. The purpose is to encourage outside of school reading for enjoyment.  I also have selected titles from which students may choose.  When a student finishes a book they take the AR quiz which will count as a grade in their English class.  Please encourage your child to read for pleasure at least 20 minutes a day (before going  to bed is a nice way to unwind from their day).  Your support is greatly appreciated!  Students who accumulate a certain number of points will be invited to an Accelerated Pizza Party in January and an Accelerated Donut Breakfast in June.
