• Mmmm, Apple Cake
    They LOVED it at school, now bake it at home.

     

     
    We have been enjoying this EASY to make apple cake since I was a little girl.  For the past several years I have brought  it to share as our first day of school snack.  In 2008 the kids wanted to make it at home - so here you go...
     
    You will need ~
     
     * A yellow cake mix and the ingredients to make it
     
      *   Fiver or six  apples
              (any kind - peeled, cored and sliced)
     
      *  A few tablespoons of cinnamon sugar
     
    Follow the directions to make the cake.   I line my pan with parchment paper, but you could simply flour the pan if you don't have parchment paper. Before you pour the batter into the pan that you selected, line the bottom of the pan with the sliced apples and sprinkle them with almost all of the cinnamon sugar.  Pour the batter over the apples and sprinkle the rest of cinnamon sugar on top.  Bake as directed.  Cool and enjoy. 
     
    It is also yummy warm with vanilla ice cream.
