August 2021
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We are excited that you are joining us, as we embark on an exciting year of teaching and learning at Saugerties Senior High. To the Class of 2025, welcome to our Senior High Family. We look forward to seeing your academic and personal growth over the next four years.
After the last year of functioning in a hybrid and remote setting we are thrilled to return to five full days of in-person instruction in the building. Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic we will continue to implement mitigation measures established by the CDC and Ulster Department of Health . This will include the requirement for all students to wear masks while indoors and on the buses, social distancing of at least three (3) feet between students where practicable, and regular handwashing and/or access to hand sanitizers. All visitors to our campus will also be required to wear masks. Any updates and changes to our protocols will be communicated through emails, messenger via Infinite Campus, webpage and town hall meetings.
We will continue to provide students with opportunities to address academic deficiencies, to make up missing credit, to be college or work force prepared, and to have the opportunity to participate in advanced academic classes. We will continue to implement initiatives to promote teaching and learning, and to engage all our stakeholders in the process of educating our students. We look forward to partnering with our stakeholders in this effort which will positively impact student performance in every content area, and in their overall academic growth and development. We have shifted to a Support Team/Cohort approach to better help meet the needs of our students. Each Grade level(Cohort) will be assigned a team of staff that will work with students to provide support for academics, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
I look forward to building relationships with all stakeholders throughout this year and encourage you to become active members of the PTSA. I am confident that this will be a productive and enriching school year.
Sincerely Yours,
Tim Reid
