PLEASE NOTE: I will not be using the google classroom for class instruction but work will be posted for students who are absent due to quarantining or illness. Students will be required to keep a binder for class and paper copies of all handouts should be kept in their binders.
Students who are absent for lab must stay after to complete lab work so the required 20 hours of lab can be met.
Parents of accelerated 8th graders: Ms. Dietrich is the Living Environment teacher and I see your children every other day for lab. We are doing hands-on lab work this year and have already been growing plants in the greenhouse and learning how to use microscopes.
**IMPORTANT! - Students MUST complete a minimum of 20 hours of lab work in order to take the Regents exam in June. This requirement will be easy to meet unless they are absent. If they are absent, they must stay after upon return to school to make up missed lab work. On the report cards, you will see either an S (satisfactory) or a U (unsatisfactory) to indicate how they are doing in lab. If they receive a U, I will indicate the number of missing labs. I will provide Ms. Dietrich with the lab averages at the end of each quarter and she will factor that into their overall LE grade.
