Welcome to your freshman year and Honors English class!  

This course is designed to take you on both a personal and academic journey.  You will find success and growth if you open your mind and put honest effort into everything you do here. 

In literature, you will meet characters who

• Face pressure from parents, peers, and society

• Journey far and wide seeking home and inner peace

• Overcome obstacles with outside help in addition to their own strength 

In writing, you will 

• Compose personal narratives, poems, and creative freewrites 

• Develop and support arguments & opinions with evidence

• Hone your VOICE and expand your confidence on the page
