    Course description:   The class is designed to provide a hands on approach to the understanding of how the internal combustion engine operates. The class will provide an overview of the major theories, processes, and parts associated with small engine operation. The class will include the disassembly and reassembly of a small engine. In the process the principles will be discussed and explained to bring the theories together with the hands on activities. The various types of engines available will be explored and discussed.

    Course projects:    The projects will vary from year to year depending on the availability of any large projects.  A small engine project consisting of disassembly and reassembly will be used to reinforce scientific, mathematic, and technological principles.

     

     

    Course grading:    Student grades will include tests, reports, projects, and homework.
