• SHS Family, Community, and Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) Constitution

    Our Mission:
    To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumeer sciences and education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through charactere development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communications; practical knowledge; and vocational preparation.

    The Creed:

    I. Administration

    A. Responsibilities

    1. All officers are expected to attend extra meetings every month, help run meetings and activities, and organize events.

    B. Elections

    1. Nominations for officers are held towards the end of each school year. These nominees are required to attend a meeting the following Thursday in discussion of each officer’s responsibilities. Small speeches discussing their goals for the SHS FCCLA Club are presented by the nominees. Officers are determined by the majority vote.

    II. Officers

    A. President: The president’s responsibilities include organizing the club’s agenda, commence meetings, keep order during meetings, instructing the club in activities, closing the meeting, and if needed, he/she will stay to help clean-up.

    B. Vice President:
    The vice president’s responsibilities include taking the attendance at the beginning of a meeting, activity, or event, and assisting in all other activities not specified by any certain officer.
    A vice president will also serve as the president if the president should be absent or unable to fulfill his/her responsibilities for any reason. The president shall resume his/her full responsibilities upon his/her return.

    C. Treasurer:The treasurer’s responsibilities include the full management of all club financials and keeping the record books.

    D. Recording Secretary: The secretary’s responsibilities include most paper work assignments for the club.

    E. Corresponding Secretary: The corresponding secretary's job includes putting up announcements and updating webpages, school site, and myspace.


    F. Public Relations: Writes for the Newspaper

    G. Historian: Takes photgraphs for the club

    H.
    Parliamentarian: Keeps the club meetings on topic



    If an officer neglects or is unable to perform these duties, they will be removed from office by a majority vote of the advisor and remaining officers.

    IV. Student Conduct

    A. All school rules apply to members.

    B. All members are expected to follow our attendance policy.

    Attendance Policy:

    To remain in good standing, members are expected to attend one of the two meetings pre-scheduled by the club’s administration on alternating Thursdays.

    C. Each student is to be held responsible for their actions.
