    SAUGERTIES CENTRAL SCHOOLS

    PHYSICAL EDUCATION WRITTEN WORK GUIDELINES

     

     Physical Education students in grades 9-12 who have a medical excuse from a physician or are on home teaching, need to fulfill their PE requirements through written work. The physical education teacher will assign a topic for the student’s paper. The guidelines for the length of the paper are as follows:

     

    1 week excused = 1 page

    2 weeks excused = 2 pages

    3 weeks excused = 3 pages

    4 weeks excused = 4 pages

    5 weeks excused = 5 pages

    One quarter (10 weeks) = 8-10 pages

    One semester (20 weeks) = (2) 8-10 page papers

     

    All papers must be typed and doubled spaced. The font must be set at 12 and the margins at 1 inch. The paper must also include a title page and a bibliography, citing at least 3 sources. The paper must be in the student’s own words and cited properly when necessary. 

     

    All papers are due at the end of each marking period and must be turned in to a PE teacher for grading. Approximate end dates for each quarter are: Quarter 1 the first week of November, quarter 2 the last week of January, quarter 3 the second week of April, and quarter 4 the second week of June.
